As residents of the area near the proposed Sea Crest Estates we are greatly concerned about potential runoff problems from it. There appears to be a 50-foot elevation difference from the back of the property on the south end to Sound Shore Rd on the north end. Permeable land will be severely reduced once roads and homes are built. Sound Shore Road has had a history of water runoff issues. Corrections have been made in the past to help stabilize other portions of Sound Shore Rd. In light of this, there needs to be particular attention to potential runoff from this new proposed development. There is a proposed water management plan, however, considering the history of this area, what reassurances are there that this plan is going to be sufficient? And if it’s not, who will be accountable? Is there a plan if remediation is required and who will pay for the remediation and property damage?
