Mike's North Fork Moment of the Month
Calm is good. As a person I like a calm environment, a calm existence. As a photographer I really love calm. Disturbance on the water and wind in the trees just don't suit the kinds of pictures I usually want to take.
As I was driving through Calverton on a uniquely calm afternoon a few years ago I just had to pull over to capture this beautiful, serene sunset over the Peconic River. A small aperture and long exposure created the starburst effect.
At this particular moment in American history I am especially hopeful for calm. Calm is good.
