Kathy's Korner
Riverhead's comp plan is drawing close to conclusion. The draft is poised to be adopted by the Town Board. It's a very long document but there is something in particular in it that may be cause for alarm to us on the Sound. There is a recommendation to allow "Agritourism" resorts in about 7 locations north of Sound Ave --an area that is zoned Residential. These resorts wil not be Agritourism. They will be hotels with pools, spas, restaurants, tennis courts and pickle ball courts.
If you don't want to see this happen send an email to the Town Board by no later than June 10th. It can be short and sweet. The address is townclerk@townofriverheadny.gov
And here is an article that has more info about the plan.
